May it be a little bigger?

The Cattle Knife is basically the working man’s knife among the gentleman’s folders. This stems primarily from the fact that it was designed exactly as such.

In the 19th century, as settlers in the United States began to cultivate the land and build larger infrastructures, it quickly became clear that the small sporting knives that had been available up to that point would not be sufficient for the hard day-to-day work on a ranch or construction site. The Cattle Knife was born.

What initially looks like a fine gentleman’s knife quickly turns out to be a real worker. With a total length of just under 200mm and a slightly thicker blade, the Cattle Knife can also be used to perform coarser tasks with ease. The taut back spring and the tightly engaging 90-degree half-stop provide the necessary safety. In keeping with the style of classic pocket knives, the Cattle Knife features brass liners and nickel silver bolsters. For the wood, the manufacturer chose burl birch, which comes into its own nicely here.

The choice of blade steel, on the other hand, is somewhat more modern. The N690 produced by Böhler is on the one hand very rust resistant and on the other hand quite easy to resharpen. The longpull, which has been provided with a fine serration for tearing of superalloy match oil, allows a comfortable opening of the blade.

The Cattle Knife is built entirely by hand in the Solingen manufactory.
